Welcome to the newly built Merikataja cabin, located on the shore of the Bothnian Bay on a private lot of approximately one hectare. The building is divided into two separate sections, allowing for both private and common time to be arranged effortlessly. One section contains a living area, a fireplace, a modern kitchen, and a cozy bedroom with a double bed. In the other section, you can relax in the sauna or by the fireplace, and it can also be used for overnight stays if needed. The cabin features a full-width terrace with stunning westward views of the sea. Large sliding glass doors provide seamless access to the terrace and offer extensive sea views from inside as well. There is a swimming area at the shore, along with a boat and a canoe. During the summer, you can hike, mountain bike, or pick berries in the surrounding forests, while in winter, you can enjoy skiing and snowmobiling directly on the frozen sea. On the ground floor of the cabin, there is a living room/kitchen with a sofa bed. Sauna, shower room/WC are also on this floor, along with a covered terrace. The upper floor has a double bed and one single bed. From the upper floor, there is access to a balcony with a stunning view of the river and the Swedish side. Please note that the stairs leading to the upper floor are steep. There is a shared cooking hut between two cabins. Closer to the beach, there is also a spacious lean-to and a campfire site. This lean-to can also be used by guests from another cabin (Villa Vonka). Final cleaning and pre-made bed linen are included in the rent. Matkakoski is also well-known for its fishing spots (salmon and whitefish), so you can observe traditional hand net based fishing right next to you.
