Käpälämäki offers an excellent opportunity to enjoy the beautiful nature and tranquility of a large lake. This planed log cabin with insulated walls, built in 2000, is well-maintained, and cozy. Inner walls of the cabin are paneled. Situated on the shore of Lake Iso-Vietonen, 40 km from Pello and 70 km from Rovaniemi. The beach has a sand bottom, making it child-friendly. The cabin rental price includes a rowing boat, and there's an option to rent a 4hp, 2-stroke outboard motor from the owner (the customers bring their own fuel). The living room/kitchen has a sofa bed, providing a comfortable living area. There's a double bed in one bedroom, and in another, there's a pull-out bed and a separate bed, accommodating several guests. The bathroom has a shower and a WC. The main building doesn't include a sauna, but there's a traditional Finnish sauna by the lake with a steam room and living area. The nearest boat launch spot to the lake is Vietosenhieta, around 20 km by road from the cabin (6 km by water). Less than a kilometer from the cabin is the protected Himotussaari island, featuring a kota (Finnish wilderness hut) managed by Metsähallitus. The island is an excellent destination for excursions in summer and winter. There's also a snowmobile route passing through Vietonen to reach the island. Cottage is located on border of Pyhä-Luosto national park. Surroundings are old-growth forest in a natural state. There is a television set in the cottage, but the signal might occasionally be weak due to the location of the cottage. Livingroom, kitchen, two bedrooms (one 160 cm wide bed and one with 140 cm wide bed), loft (14 m²) with 4 mattresses, electric sauna, washing room, storage room, toilet, feeding chair and potty. The second loft on top of the kitchen is not in use. Prices include final cleaning. Bed linen available for rent.

30 km west of Rovaniemi, River Sonkajoki (at a broader point, where river width is approximately 200 m) 30 m, located in a small holiday village, shallow shore, sand bottom, boat in shared use, shore shared. There are 3 jettys and campfire place on the shore. Log villa, built in 2014, living area with sofa bed, 2 bedrooms each with 2 single beds, sauna (electric stove), shower room, separate toilet, walk-in closet, large covered porch, wheelchair ramp to the porch, low thresholds. There are 2 TVs (one in the bedroom). Log house in a sunny location on the waterfront in the area of a small holiday village. Holiday Village restaurant 100 m (open in summer 15.6. - 15.8.). Owner rents electric outboard motor for boat. Caravans, hot tub, camping or mobile homes are not allowed on the plot. Please note that charging an electric car is not allowed and it is not allowed to keep the car's interior heater on for more than one hour. The cottage can be booked for less than a week at all times, except during Christmas and the new year. 150 € security deposit should be paid on arrival. Payment only in cash. The salmon fishing spots of Muonionjoki and the state owned hunting areas are easily accessible. 27 km to the north from Muonio municipality center, lake Kätkäjärvi 25 m (length 2,7 km, width 0,7 km), shallow beach with sand bottom, own rowing boat. The cabin is built of planed logs. On the ground floor, living room / kitchen, bedroom with double bed, washroom/WC and covered terrace. On the upper floor, 2 beds, another is 120 cm wide, balcony. In addition, one extra mattress that can be placed in different places. Lakeside sauna with steam room and dressing room. Sauna is equipped with wood-burning sauna stove and water tank connected to the sauna stove. The tank will be used for water heating. Water to the sauna must be brought from the lake (10 m) or from the cabin (20 m) by using a bucket. Outdoor hut with campfire site. Distance to the river Muonionjoki is less than a kilometer. River Muonionjoki is a tributary of Torne river, which is the longest salmon river in Europe. Good possibilities for salmon fishing, other fish species are sea trout and grayling. Fishing area: 2502 Tornionjoki -Muonionjoki – Könkämäeno (www.eraluvat.fi) Fishing in lakes is usually permitted with fisheries management fee. One fishing rod can be used. Small game hunting areas: 2602 Muonio and 1614 Hetta-Karesuvanto (www.eraluvat.fi). A snowmobile trail is located on the opposite shore of the lake. The snowmobile trail (Victoria trail, continuing to Kilpisjärvi) running parallel the Swedish border is easily accessible.
