Puikkokoski (1952), totally renovated 2018, is an idyllic, old lumberjack cottage which is suitable for example as a holiday base for groups or several families in the middle of the purest kind of Kainuu forest landscape. Cottage living area is 194 m², on one level. There has a large 70-seat room with a huge natural stone fireplace. Wide 30 m² terrace. There is a separate kitchen (dinner set for 70 persons). Six bedrooms with bunk-beds, total for 16 persons. There is 3 x indoor WC. From some of the bedrooms entrance to the living room and other common spaces is from outdoors. Cozy log cabin by a clear-watered lake Iso-Roine. 37 km to the north from Hämeenlinna, lake Iso-Roine 20 m (length 8 km, width 2 km), shallow bottom, pier. There is a steep stairs down to the shore in front of the cabin, nature trail to the pier, where you can swim. Near the pier, there is a small sand shore where the smallest members of the family can swim. The shore deepens fast. There is a shallow child-friendly sand beach within 200 m from the cabin (shared with neighboring cabins). The marina, where you can find a rowing boat belonging to the cabin, is 100 meters away. The rowing boat is stored in the harbor due to the rockiness of the beach. A little further from the harbor, you can get a shortcut to the meadow area, where are opportunities for many kinds of activities.
