The farm is located within walking distance of the cottage, making it easy for guests to get acquainted with the everyday life of the farm or just drop in for a chat. Rantala Farm cultivates cereals and caraway seeds, some of the fields being scenic rather than productive. Wild berries and mushrooms can be freely gathered in the forest and the Rantala area is rich in this natural produce. There is a village society tepee on the farm's land where guests are free to go to roast sausages or brew coffee over an open fire. The Vuorenkylä nature trail with its splendid scenery is also well worth a visit! In winter there are 2-8 km long maintained ski trails nearby. At Purnu you can experience the exhilarating speed of downhill skiing. It is also easy to reach the national snowmobile trail network from the cottage. Kytöranta acquired its name due to its association with kytövuori hill and kytösuo mire, where land (so-called “kytö”) used to be burned over for cultivation purposes. The sun shines on Kytöranta's terrace almost all day round. The cottage has a garden swing%3B the terrace has a table and a set of chairs, as well as a kettle grill for barbecues. Using the rowing boat, guests can fish for perch near the small island, then roast the catch on the grill on the shore. Right next to the cottage there is excellent berry and mushroom picking terrain, which is also ideal for rambling in general. Laattajan hirsipirtti is traditional log house/log cabin in the middle of hilly landscapes in Northern Kainuu region. Location is approximately in the center of the triangle, which vertexes are Hyrynsalmi, Puolanka and Suomussalmi. Log house is suitable for accommodation and for organizing small-scale parties and meetings. Log house has been renovated. Kitchen and WC (with shower) have been renovated in 2022. There is a shower in the WC. Two bedrooms, one with double bed, another with double bed, a single bed and a bed for a child. An extra bed in the living room. Heating is provided by electric radiators in all rooms. In addition, the living room has a large baking oven and wood stove. The second bedroom has fireplace. The WC has floor heating. The computer has been connected to the TV.There is a television set in the cottage, but TV-signal might be occasionally weak because of the location of the cottage. 35 km north of Lahti, the Lahdenpoukama cabin is located on the shore of the clear and clean Ruotsalainen lake (30 m). The beach is hard and steadily deepening. Residents have two kayaks on the beach, one single and the other two-seater. Two new SUP boards and a rowing boat. The large, long platform makes it easier to use these hobby tools. In the clear water lake there is something to wonder about even for a snorkeler. Lahdenpoukama is a cozy, clean and well-equipped log cabin (built 1996) with three bedrooms, a spacious living room and a kitchen. The kitchen has a dining table for eight, also with a view of the lake. The cottage's three bedrooms comfortably offer your own peace for rest or work. One bedroom has a large double bed, the second has a 120 cm bed and the third has an 80 cm bed. In addition, two thick spare mattresses. In bathroom there is a shower, toilet, mirror cabinet and sink. The cottage has an air source heat pump. There isn't any sauna in the cottage, but there is a lakeside tent sauna available. On the cottage's covered terrace, you can enjoy the lake view. An atmospheric barbecue hut allows you to cook outside in the summer protected from the weather, and the new Saunacube tent sauna, which gives good steam, is right next to the beach. After the sauna and swimming, you can cool off at home, fry sausages or grill fish and enjoy sauna drinks. Pretty nice! In addition to the barbecue house, a portable charcoal grill is available. The property is intended for a peaceful holiday, e.g. for families, and is not rented to groups under 25 years of age or e.g. stag or hen parties. The Vääksy canal, the Kalkkisten center with its wineries and the unique Pulkkilanharju's nature trails are examples of destinations in the area that are worth visiting especially in summer! You can also arrive at the cottage by motorboat from Päijänne or Vesijärvi via canals, and Heinola can also be reached by water.
