30 km west of Rovaniemi, River Sonkajoki (at a broader point, where river width is approximately 200 m) 70 m, located in a small holiday village, shallow shore, sand bottom, boat in shared use, shore shared. There are 3 jettys and campfire place on the shore. Heat hardened log chalet 2010, living room/kitchen convertible sofa, bedroom double bed, 2 bedrooms in both 2 beds, child's travel bed, sauna (electric stove), washroom, separate WC, large open porch (40 m²). Spacious, high standard chalet in small holiday village area. Nearest neighbour is the restaurant building, 20 m. Chalet is located in a sunny place on top of a ridge. Views down to water course and holiday village area. The cottage is well suited for watching the Northern Lights when they occur. Caravans, camping, mobile homes or hot tub are not allowed on the plot. Please note that charging an electric car is not allowed and it is not allowed to keep the car's interior heater on for more than one hour. Connection to motor sledge routes, distance 3 km. There is a bus connection to Sallatunturi from most trains arriving in Kemijärvi and from most flights arriving in Kuusamo (bus stop approx. 700 m away). Check the validity of the schedules in advance. The services of Sallatunturi can be easily reached from Mirkunranta. Illuminated ski trail is within 350 m. The snowmobile trail network is also conveniently accessible from the cabin.
